FunctionalityUse the Conrad GX107 GSM module to switch and monitor electrical appliances and systems remotely. Send the remote switch commands by SMS text message or in-bound phone call and it sends status notifications via SMS text message based on the signals at its inputs and commands it has received. The GX107 takes a regular SIM card from any mobile phone provider and uses the GSM (mobile phone) network. When the GX107 is expanded with a GPS antenna, it offers the additional feature of sending GPS coordinates by SMS text message and even alarm notifications when it is take outside permitted areas! ApplicationsSwitching: - Two isolated relay outputs mean the GX107 module can remotely switch regular 230-240V mains powered appliances or max 24Vdc devices. This could include, but is not limited to, heating or cooling systems, garage doors, security lighting, access control. Practically any device can be controlled and monitored from anywhere in the world via SMS text message! Monitoring: - Appliances such as burglar alarms, smoke detectors and motion detectors can be connected to the GSM module's digital inputs, whereby the GX107 sends out SMS text message notifications based on high or low incoming voltage signals. Global positioning: -Inputs / Outputs OverviewOne NO relay output (8A/250Vac or 5A/24Vdc)One transistor output (300mA/32Vdc)One digital optocoupler input (0-12Vdc)One analogue input for e.g. temperature sensor (max 2.8Vdc)INCALL Inbound Call OutputThe GX107's INCALL function can be assigned to the module's relay or transistor output. Two modes are available: Toggle, the output is switched when the module receives an incoming call (call once for on, once for off), or Time, the output is activated for pre-configured set time period. The time period can be set in intervals of secs anywhere between 1 and 43,200 seconds (12 hours).SMS Controlled OutputThe GSM module's second relay output can be activated or deactivated based on an incoming SMS text message command. This is not a timer relay. The texted command SMS1=1 activates the relay, SMS1=0 deactivates the relay. This output also features a red signal LED to show when the relay is active. Digital InputsTwo independent digital (optocoupler) inputs can be configured so that the GSM module sends an individual SMS notification only when the voltage at an input drops below 2.5V, only when it increases above 2.5V or when any change is detected. 2.5V=1. Configuration, Commands And NotificationsAll configurations and commands on the GX101 are done via SMS text message, including activation commands, renaming the module, resetting the module. The module can send error notifications when it receives an unknown SMS command (function can be deactivated). A general status message can be requested and sent out as well as a signal strength request. The module sends an SMS notification when a its battery is low. Power Supply And Integrated BatteryThe GX101 remote switch runs on 4.8 - 6Vdc at minimum 700mA. A suitable mains adapter power supply with open wire ends is available listed under the 'Accessories' tab. It can be used with a 3.7V Li-Po or Li-Ion battery as a backup if mains power should fail (not included). The battery is automatically recharged inside the module to a maximum of 75% capacity while the module is running on its DC power input. The module can send an SMS alert when its battery is running low. Security And PermissionsTwo administrator phone numbers can be assigned that are authorised to configure the GSM module. These are also the numbers that the GX101 sends its SMS notifications to. The SIM's PIN must be activated and can be changed by SMS command. EnclosureThe GSM remote switch and monitoring module is supplied with a weatherproof enclosure that meets IP54. When the provided cable glands are used, the enclosure meets IP66. The Conrad GX107 module uses the GSM (mobile phone) network to remotely switch and monitor electrical systems, from anywhere in the world. Monitoring of stationary and moving objects. Determine the measured voltage/temperature, the status of the electrical signals and optionally the current GPS-position of the object via SMS at all times. Switch one of the 2 switching outputs at all times conveniently via SMS or via a call. Get information via SMS and e-mail, when, for instance the power supply breaks down, the temperature goes above or below the set values or optionally, when the monitored object moves outside of the set GPS-coordinates. By using the AREA-function you can specify GPS-corridors, in which the object may be present. Upon leaving a warning message is sent immediately to all the stored telephone numbers (SMS). Get the current GPS-position of your monitored object at regular intervals. For a full list of this module's inputs/outputs, please see the list below under 'Features'.Applications: Monitoring and remote control of heating, air conditioning, cooling systems Remote control of doors and garage doors Control and monitoring of motion or fire detectors, level sensors Monitoring the position of moving objects and more.
